Atlan Hassard, Program Director- programdirector@blazeradioonline.com
Atlan Rush Hassard is a senior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication studying Broadcast Journalism. Atlan’s true passions are comedy, indie music and film. He has been part of Blaze Radio since his freshman year as a DJ, anchor, reporter, host and now director. Atlan loves everything about the station from its underground college aesthetic to the way it provides aspiring students an avenue to get involved with whatever their interests may be. The thing Atlan most enjoys about being part of the station is doing his DJ shift and comedy-talk-variety series, The Atlan Hassard Show. Atlan’s goals for after college are essentially to do these things professionally, pursuing a career as a comedian and radio personality before getting his own show and traveling the world.

His favorite Blaze memory was during Traffic Jam his freshman year when he laughed for 5 minutes because of a funny picture his assistant producer sent him. After graduation, he hopes to work at NPR in some capacity or to attend law school.

Weston went to college for two years at Bethel University in Minnesota, then transferred to ASU in 2015 and got involved with Blaze Radio right away. He was placed on “Press Pass” in the Fall of 2015, then got his own specialty show the very next semester, “Going Deep with Weston DeWitt”. Last year, Weston was the Assistant Director in the Sports Department and started the IBS Award nominating show “The Weston DeWitt Show with Eliav Gabay”. After college, Weston’s ultimate goal to write, broadcast and do his own radio show, simultaneously. In his spare time, Weston loves to watch sports, hang out with his friends from Blaze, soak in the Phoenix sunshine and watch movies. His favorite sports include hockey, baseball, UFC and Boxing. Don’t ask him about his favorite fighter, because it’s too hard for him to answer. His favorite actor is Denzel Washington. He is currently in the process of watching every one of his movies. He says his favorite of his so far is Training Day.
