Devin Booker created history on Tuesday, moving up to second on the Phoenix Suns all time scoring list.
Booker's 25 points against the Sacramento Kings moved him past Alvan Adams previous record of 13,910 points. He also added 3 rebounds and 9 assists to go alongside his record breaking scoring performance.
The Suns defeated the Kings 130-125 to move back up to fifth in the Western Conference standings.
“Hard to put to words, especially passing Alvan. Somebody that I have a high respect for,” Booker said.
Devin also got high praise from his teammate Kevin Durant.
“He deserves to be the No. 1 all-time leading scorer in Suns history with the work he’s put in, so I can’t wait for that day,” Durant stated.
The current No. 1 leading scorer is the late Walter Davis, with 15,666 all-time points. Booker trails him by just 1,748 points. Suns fans can expect their franchise player to pass Davis’ record in the upcoming seasons.
That’s not the only record the four time All-Star guard is trying to break. Booker also passed the newest inductee to the Suns Ring of Honor, Shawn Marion, in the franchises all-time field goals made list at 4,879. Devin trails Davis in first, and Adams in second for that achievement.
