Making a quick stop in Los Angeles before their international tour, brother duo, The Driver Era, announced an impromptu pop-up show at The Wiltern Theatre.
The fact that New York born singer, Blu DeTiger, was the opener for their pop-up show made it known that she is moving up as an artist. From opening for Sabrina Carpenter, to performing at Lollapalooza, and now opening for The Driver Era, it is clear that she is gaining more attention. Her performance included many of her original songs, such as “Disappearing,” “Moxie,” and even cover songs, such as “I Love It” by Icona Pop and “Ribs” by Lorde. Ultimately, her performance had the crowd jumping up and down with excitement, and they were eager for more.
Following the energetic set by Blu, fans were thrilled to see The Driver Era’s performance. They were especially excited to see the band perform since lead singer Ross Lynch had announced on social media that the band would be playing unreleased music, including “You Keep Me Up At Night.” The new new single/ep's release date was announced shortly after the concert had come to an end.
The band began its set by having crew members prepare its curious set up, which included lifting a big curtain to hide the stage. The lights turned off, silence followed but did not last and fans started screaming in excitement. The stage lights turned on and showed the silhouettes of dancers, band members, and Ross and Rocky Lynch.
They started with their new unreleased song, “Touch.” Lifting the curtains and revealing the silhouettes made fans go wild. Additionally, the slow start to the song, and the adrenaline building inside each fan that day made the moment more suspenseful.
Immediately after the first song ended, the curtain dropped, and of course, they had to keep the momentum going by playing another song yet to be released, “You Keep Me Up At Night.” The crowd watched in awe.
Of course, after performing some songs from their upcoming album, they continued their show with songs from their past albums like, “Preacher Man” from their album “X” and “Take Me Away” from their album “Girlfriend.” They played some of their more popular songs including “Fantasy” and “Rumors,” which was the first time they had performed these songs live at a concert in Los Angeles.
All good things must end, and The Driver Era ended the night with its most recently released EP, “Get Off My Phone,” followed by their most well-known song, “A Kiss.”
Fans left feeling impressed, content and enthusiastic that they could experience the incredible talent that was shown by every band member.
