Rising star Natalie Jane took a moment to chat with Blaze Radio about her latest EP, “Sick to My Stomach,” and the journey she’s been on while creating and performing emotionally charged music. The project dives deeply into love, heartbreak and the complexity of toxic relationships, a theme that resonates powerfully with fans. In our interview, Jane revealed some of the personal inspirations behind the music and shared her approach to staying balanced amid the pressures of touring.
One of the tracks, “can i see you tonight,” stands out as a fan favorite and a song Jane herself holds close.
“I like that song a lot,” she said. “It’s kind of the most straight pop song I have. It’s fun to listen to, easy to dance to—you don’t have to think too much because the lyrics are super simple.”
With lyrics that paint the late-night cycle of a tumultuous relationship—“1 a.m. breakup, 2 a.m. makeup, 3 a.m.” and on—Jane’s songwriting encapsulates the relatable push and pull of loving someone who may not be right for you.
“It’s just a true story of a cute little toxic relationship, and I think a lot of people have been with someone who’s not necessarily good for them,” she added, explaining that the song captures how a painful situation can be transformed into something fun, light-hearted and easy to sing along to.
Jane’s honesty and relatability are perhaps what make her music so easy to connect with, creating a space for fans to feel seen in their own experiences.
With her EP released, Jane is now fully immersed in the intensity of her tour, a process that can be both exhilarating and emotionally demanding. When asked how she maintains her mental and emotional well-being on the road, Jane emphasized the positive energy of live performances.
“What’s so beautiful about tour is everyone that’s there wants to be there and just loves the music,” she said.
In stark contrast to the Internet, where “anyone can say what they don’t like,” the atmosphere at her shows is one of overwhelming support. For Jane, it’s therapeutic to perform in a room filled with love from fans who want nothing but the best for her.
“Because a hater’s not gonna buy a ticket, and if they do I’ll take their money happily,” she joked, acknowledging the reassurance that comes from knowing her audience is genuinely there to uplift her.
Jane’s candid responses reflect an artist who’s not only invested in creating music that resonates but who also values the healing and unity her live performances bring. As she continues her tour, fans can expect an emotionally raw and cathartic experience with music that turns heartache into something beautiful. It’s clear that, for Natalie Jane, the love of her audience is more than just applause—it’s a space that nurtures her own emotional journey.
