Blaze Sports presents weekend of postseason events

PHOENIX — The postseason is here for fall sports such as volleyball and football, which means Blaze Sports is excited to announce its broadcast crews and schedule as Big 12 Champion Arizona State Volleyball hosts first and second-round action on-campus at Desert Financial Arena. Sun Devil football caps off its remarkable turnaround season Saturday morning as it plays for a Big 12 Championship in Arlington, TX.

“These two events of this magnitude going on in the same weekend is just simply special,” said Jaden Taylor, Blaze Radio Sports Director. “It shows the immense growth in just a few years for Arizona State athletics, and our station is ready to provide the best coverage possible.”

Fresh off a trip to the Sweet Sixteen a year ago, JJ Van Niel’s volleyball program dominated in their first season in the Big 12 Conference, finishing the season with a 29-2 record en route to a Big 12 Championship.

Arizona State hosts NCAA Tournament action for the first time since 1995, and Blaze Radio will be there for it all. The station will employ three broadcasters to call each of the three matches at Desert Financial Arena on Friday and Saturday.

Alan Judson and Jaden Taylor will have the call for both round of 64 matches Friday night, which opens with No. 6 Texas A&M playing Colorado State at 4:30 p.m. (MST), followed by No. 3 Arizona State hosting New Hampshire at 6:30 p.m. (MST). Both matches will be streamed exclusively on Blaze Sports’ X account.

On Saturday, Taylor will be joined by Kian Wojtowich as the two will have the call between the two winners of the Friday night matches. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. (MST) and will be simulcasted on Blaze Sports’ X account.

Before the volleyball round of 32 gets into full swing, Blaze Radio will be on-site at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX for Arizona State’s first postseason football game since 2021, as the 15th-ranked Sun Devils take on No. 16 Iowa State in the 2024 Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship.

“This has been a historic year of firsts for both Arizona State football and Blaze Radio,” Taylor added. “Getting the opportunity to showcase the 2024 Big 12 Championship Game on our airwaves is going to be an amazing experience for our entire station.”

Blaze Radio’s Brenden Paul and Riley Swenson will provide the play-by-play commentary and will be joined by Ben Parris on the sidelines as a spot in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff is on the line.

Coverage of the Big 12 Football Championship game on Blaze Radio begins at 9:30 am (MST). Alan Deutschendorf, Nathan Ketelhut, Luke Lendler, Maddex Martin, and Tyler Wargo are providing live pre-/half/post-game coverage from the Bill Austin Radio Studio in Phoenix.

Blaze’s coverage of the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship will be simulcasted on Blaze Sports X and BlazeRadioOnline.com for listeners to enjoy.
