The College Football Playoff Returns to Blaze Radio

PHOENIX — The college football postseason is upon us and Blaze Sports is excited to announce it will have crews on-site for the first two College Football Playoff Quarterfinal matchups, beginning on December 31 from Glendale. This year will mark the first time in the station’s history that they will have crews on-site for multiple College Football Playoff games.

“It’s a new era of college football and to get the ability to showcase two games at the highest level of college football is an incredible honor for this station,” said Jaden Taylor, Blaze Radio Sports Director.

For the third consecutive season, Blaze Radio will be at State Farm Stadium for the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on December 31st. This year’s edition of the Fiesta Bowl also marks the start of the first-ever quarterfinal round for the newly expanded College Football Playoff, which now features 12 teams.

The New Year’s Eve tilt will feature Boise State, the Mountain West Conference champions and the third seed in the bracket, against the sixth seed, Penn State Nittany Lions, winners over SMU in the first round of the playoff.

Jaden Taylor and Ben Parris will be in the booth providing the play-by-play, both of them will be calling their first bowl game for the station. The duo will accompany Mihir Sinhasan, who also has his first bowl game assignment for Blaze, down on the sidelines to complete the on-air crew for this year’s Fiesta Bowl.

Blaze Radio’s coverage of the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl begins at 5 p.m. (MST), with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The game will be streamed exclusively on Blaze Sports’ X account.

“Our crew is ready to bring the best of the best in terms of coverage for both the Fiesta and Peach Bowl,” Taylor added. “We cannot wait to get going on December 31st.”

The station’s coverage of college football is currently scheduled to conclude on New Year’s Day, as the station will also have a team on-site at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Peach Bowl will feature the Big 12 Conference champions and fourth seed in the inaugural 12-team bracket, the Arizona State Sun Devils, who have capped off its incredible turnaround story with the program’s first trip to the CFP. The Sun Devils will take on the fifth-seeded Texas Longhorns out of the SEC, in a matchup that pits the last two Big 12 Champions against each other.

Ryan Sykora and Cavan Malayter will provide the play-by-play and are joined by Scott Sandulli on the sidelines. This marks a second postseason football broadcast for both Sykora and Malayter, while Sandulli makes his Blaze Radio bowl game debut.

“Super excited to get the opportunity to be on air for this game,” said Sykora. “Putting so much into this club and to be blessed with the opportunity to do a game like this is so cool.”

Blaze Radio’s presentation of the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl begins at 10:15 am (MST) with the station’s Fiesta Bowl crew of Ben Parris, Jaden Taylor, and Mihir Sinhasan providing studio coverage from the Bill Austin Radio Studio in Phoenix to get fans set for kickoff, slated for 11 am.

Listeners hoping to enjoy Blaze’s Peach Bowl broadcast will have multiple ways to listen, as the game will be simulcasted on Blaze Sports’ X account and BlazeRadioOnline.com.
