Slander Returns for Their Largest Headline Show in the Valley Yet

For fans of bass and house music, or those just looking for an event to kickstart their February, this EDM DJ duo is holding a show in Chandler next weekend.

Slander, the LA-based DJ duo composed of Derek Anderson and Scott Land, will be performing at the Rawhide Event Center on Feb. 1, making it their largest headline show in the state’s history.

Relentless Beats, Arizona’s main EDM promoter and organizer of Slander Arizona, first announced the event in October 2024, boasting that this show would bring an “absolutely stacked lineup” and “brand new production.”

Indeed, the event organizers would later reveal the names of major artists in the EDM world as performers, as well as those slowly making their way to the top. Prior to Slander’s finale set, Rawhide’s stage will feature sets from Kai Wachi and two back-to-back (b2b) sets: Moody Good and Chee, and Vctre and CopyCatt.

Slander’s headlining show marks one of the first major Relentless Beats events to be held in 2025. Slander’s performance at Rawhide is also one of the first few shows to return to using the Chandler-based event center as a venue, as the Phoenix Raceway has become a popular spot for EDM events in the past few years, including Slander’s last headlining show in September 2022.

Known for a slew of tracks released between the late 2010s and early 2020s, such as “Love Is Gone,” “All You Need To Know,” and “Superhuman,” Slander’s bass sound combined with euphoric melodies has made them especially popular with Arizona residents, playing sets filled with platinum-earning tracks at popular festivals in the Valley in 2024 such as Goldrush Music Festival and Decadence Arizona.

Kai Wachi is recognized for his dubstep sound, though his new singles have been acclaimed by critics to have a more melodic sound, making him a complementary addition to Slander’s headlining show.

Highly-revered in the dubstep company, Moody Good will be performing a back-to-back set with  Chee, a South-African producer known for his experimental bass sound. Another set, Vctre b2b CopyCatt, is a combination of a dancey dubstep and experimental bass.

Penny Nguyen, an Arizona State University student and fan of Slander since 2022, will be attending Slander’s Chandler show. Nguyen said she is looking forward to both Slander and Kai Wachi’s sets, as well as getting the chance to bond with friends and make new ones throughout the night.

“I’ve seen Slander so many times, but I’ll never get tired of them,” Nguyen said. “I really enjoy their music because it’s very euphoric with a mix of dubstep.”

The show is for attendees aged 18+. Tickets on the Relentless Beats website are valued at approximately $79.
