Day Two of Decadence AZ: Age Of Indulgence Properly Rings in the New Year

An EDM festival to kick off the New Year? Say less.

The second and final day of DECADENCE: AGE OF INDULGENCE at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, AZ, delivered an enthralling lineup and astounding vibes, perfectly carrying over from day one. The festival celebrated an incredible 10 years of providing attendees with one of most notable New Year’s Eve celebrations in the country.

With standout sets from popular artists like John Summit, Mau P, Zeds Dead, Dr. Fresch and SIDEPIECE, day two was a high-energy finale that was tough to beat. Here is a look at some of the most notable performances from day two.

To get the vibes started, Justin Irby and Raven & Ali hit the decks at both of the main stages. Excited festivalgoers arrived earlier than on day one, anticipating that day two would be far more crowded.

By the time the clock striked 7 p.m., general admission rails were completely packed by the time Eater and STVSH’s back-to-back set took over the Grand Palace. Jumping and standing on their deck, they encouraged the entire crowd to get involved whether it was singing along, dancing or head banging to the beat. Eater also exclaimed that they were playing new songs amongst the other oldies-gone-techno that they played. Their set was an incredible segue into Zeds Dead.

Before Zeds Dead hit the stage, GUDFELLA was rocking the Royal Ballroom with some of his greatest hits. He even featured “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, creating his own spin on the classic by throwing in highly-anticipated beat drops throughout the song. As the end of his set neared, he included his supporters behind him, bringing them to the deck and showing them what he sees from his point-of-view.

Back at the Grand Palace, the environment was electric as Zeds Dead entered the stage, greeted by the crowd that went wild as this was another highly anticipated set featured in the lineup. Starting off with their iconic intro where an English teacher instructs the crowd to follow along the alphabet with her, but only repeating each letter spelling out Zeds Dead until the beat drop got closer and closer.

One of the most unique things about this set was how they turned classical blues into electronic dance music, adding clips of old films to the visuals behind them. With a long intro to each song, they kept the crowd on their toes for when each drop would come next. They also featured their top played song on Spotify, “One Three Nine” in the middle of the set.

Next on the lineup was Mau P, a Dutch DJ from Amsterdam who has recently started gaining traction within the past two years. His stage presence was powerful as he took over on the deck to his recent release “MERTHER,” a techno remix of “World a Music” by Ini Kamoze which has been a popular reggae song to remix amongst many DJs.

Mau P played his most popular hits within the first three songs, one being “BEATS FOR THE UNDERGROUND,” and held the energy static as his one-of-a-kind graphics of himself as a silhouette and insane bass met the thousands of bodies packed like sardines at the main stage. To top off his outstanding set, he played Skrillex’s remix of Benny Benassi’s “Cinema,” an addition to his set that many fans have raved about on social media platforms following the festival like Tik Tok.

As midnight approached, anticipation hung in the air and the vibes throughout the Grand Palace were just right for what the rest of the night would bring.

Dr. Fresch and BIJOU came ready to party with their back-to-back set wearing matching Suns jerseys to represent Arizona. The dynamic duo stepped on stage with a captivating energy, more than any other set, as a proper intro to what they would bring and what set was to come after: John Summit’s NYE countdown.

Dr. Fresch hopped on the microphone to pump the crowd up, even making them laugh as he exclaimed, “How about a Mau P and John Summit sandwich?!” In celebration of it being the duo’s first time DJing together in ten years, they both brought their families on stage for support, getting them involved whenever they could.

Playing throwback hits as well as each of their familiar hits like “Take A Step Back” by Dr. Fresch and “I Know” by BIJOU, dancing and cheering filled the air in the electric Grand Palace environment. At the end of their set around 11:40 p.m., just five minutes before John Summit took the stage, the crowd was itching to enter the new year with an unforgettable celebration.

The Grand Palace was the place to be. Overflowing with energy from every side—general admission, VIP and Platinum—everyone the festival had united in one enormous place all at once.

When John Summit made his grand entrance, he grabbed the headphones and put them on in his signature style—muffs just above his ears, headband resting across his forehead. As the opening notes of "Where You Are" began to pulse through the speakers, the crowd erupted in cheers. With a smile, he threw his arms up beside him, taking a moment to soak in the energy of the room, his eyes scanning the vibrant space around him.

“Arizona, how the f---- we feelin’, baby?!” he exclaimed.

Maintaining an incredible energy right up to the New Year's Eve countdown, he played popular ID tracks alongside some of his own releases, building the hype until the final minutes of 2024.

For the countdown, he chose to play “Go Back,” letting the 10 second timer tick into the new year, introduced by a beat drop and multiple cannons shooting white confetti and stringer into the air onto the thousands of people inside of the Grand Palace. Multicolor pastel balloons also fell from the top of the tent, and the crowd got to pass them around through the air.

It was an unforgettable way to kick off the new year.

John Summit kept the vibes alive throughout the rest of his set and in the first minutes of 2025 by playing more of his popular discography like “Trip,” “palm of my hands,” “Shiver,” and his remix of “Gas Pedal.” The confetti cannons went off three more times until his set came to a close, leaving everyone in attendance with unforgettable memories and with an incredible start to the new year.

Before saying farewell to Decadence, the final stop of the night was back at the Royal Ballroom, where SIDEPIECE was putting on an outstanding set full of techno and dance music. The majority of the crowd from the Grand Palace made their way over, eager to keep the celebration going as they rang in the new year at Arizona’s largest New Year’s Eve festival.

Dylan Ragland and Ricky Mears, the talented creators behind the Grammy-nominated house music project SIDEPIECE, knew exactly how to build off of each other's energy to keep the party going. Blending elements of house, pop and hip-hop, they add their own spin and transform songs into phenomenal dance music.

SIDEPIECE’s set featured their very own hits like “On My Mind,” and “F---- It Up,” as well as remixes of other well-known songs by other EDM DJs such as “Stephanie,” a hit by Cloonee and “Raven,” by Proxy.

As their set wrapped up at 1:40 a.m., a handful of attendees began to filter out, marking the end of another unforgettable night. Celebrating a decade of Decadence, the event was filled with countless memories and showcased yet another stellar lineup of iconic DJs.
